Grocery retailer Coles will offer re-usable and biodegradable checkout bags in its stores nationwide, from Sept 1, following positive feedback to the ban on lightweight plastic bags in South Australia, and to offer customers “a better range of checkout bags”. The new re-usable heavyweight plastic bag will cost 15 cents and a biodegradable bag, 25 cents.
