Patience drying up for power stations’ drinking water use

Vales Point power station at Lake Macquarie north of Sydney has recently come under fire for using drinking-quality water, but owner Delta Electricity claims it has little choice because of limited availability of recycled water. The solution, environment groups argue, is to develop NSW’s fledgling recycled water market and increase the price of drinking water for its big buyers.
