Transforming the Hunter into a renewable energy hub

Replacing coal-fired power generation with renewable energy in the Hunter region north of Sydney would create thousands of jobs and revitalise the region’s manufacturing industry, according to a report released by Greenpeace. The Hunter region is where six of the eight coal-fired power stations in NSW are located, with two of them ranked the worst polluting in Australia.
